Jason Setchen: Athlete Attorney with vast experience representing professional, collegiate, and high school athletes as well as coaches and school administrators.
Jason Setchen is a nationally recognized attorney and advocate for athletes, coaches and school administrators in amateur and professional sports. Mr. Setchen is not a sports agent but provides extensive legal representation and meets his clients’ needs on a variety of sports related legal and administrative issues.
Mr. Setchen has been practicing law for over 25 years and has dedicated a large portion of his career to advocating for individuals in the sports world. Over the course of his distinguished career, Mr. Setchen has handled countless high-profile cases representing amateur and professional athletes concerning a vast variety of issues including disputes with the FHSAA, NCAA, universities, and the NFL.
Mr. Setchen has also advised and counseled many student-athletes in an array of matters including eligibility, team suspension and/or dismissal, administrative waivers and appeals, drug testing appeals, transfer disputes and NCAA Transfer Portal disputes, scholarship reduction and cancellation disputes, a compendium of NIL matters, and countless other issues and disputes impacting amateur and athletes, coaches, and administrators including Athletic Directors. Mr. Setchen often serves as a guest lecturer for colleges, universities, graduate schools, and law schools. He routinely lectures at the University of Miami’s undergraduate and graduate Sports Administration program and other institutions in the field of Sports Law.
